June 9, 2010 – Wednesday: Interval training at AU aborted due to Rain

Today’s run had Yash, Senthil, Bharghav, Ramesh and I at AU for the interval training. Rain was looming judging by the streaks of lightning and the dark clouds swooping in. It was actually quite pretty when we started.

We were getting into a nice rhythm and I had just started my 7th lap, I think, when the heavens opened up and we scurried for cover.

One thing that I did notice was the effect of the wind. When the wind is against you, running is really tough, but when it is with you, pushing you – you don’t feel the wind at all, giving the impression that everything is still and calm – but running is easier 🙂

Anyway, what we did was just 2.93k in 17 minutes.

Sat around, spoke for a bit and left. I took a peak inside the Boat club gym on the way, but it was packed. I guess all the normal road walkers/ runners got in as well and a “housefull” board on the door would not have been out of place. The only thing possible was some free squats, done very gingerly and then back home after that.
