Jan 2, 2009 – Saturday: A slight groin strain

Woke up this morning at 5:30 and seemed to have a slight dull ache in my pelvic-groin area. No idea why. There was no training yesterday and so no clue on what could have caused it.

Anyway, the plan for today was to run solo for a little bit and then do some weights. I dumped both plans and instead went for a walk. Surprisingly, there was no pain while walking. In fact, there is no pain while sitting or lying down or while stretching. The pain is only when I stand.

Anyway, was a decent walk. Not fast, not slow – at just less than 6kmph – walked through Apollo hospital, Asan school, back to Haddows road, thru’ Sterling road to Loyola college, to Mahalingapuram Ayyappan temple and back home through Valluvarkottam – Veerabadran street. 10.2 km in 1 hour 40 minutes.

At the end of the walk, I thought that the pain had gone, but once I was standing, it was right there – exactly how it was in the morning – a dull, persistent pain. Don’t know what to do.
